Lesley Vogel's journey into painting began with life drawing. Her interest in line and form led to applying colour to organic shapes.
A fascination with rocks then evolved into seascapes. Inspiration has primarily been attained through visiting an area regularly at the mid north coast of New South Wales.
Lesley is attracted to the strong light of the Australian landscape, which she tries to incorporate into her paintings to radiate energy.
Sometimes line work in the form of bridges or fences is used to create movement from one area to another. This also echoes the co-existence of man and nature.
Lesley, whilst interested in the abstract, likes to maintain an element of realism.
